Montana has been coaching since 2016. She finds immense joy in sharing her love of skating and helping aspiring skaters to excel and achieve their goals. Montana holds numerous testing achievements, including 5x USFS Gold Medalist in MIF, US & Canadian Gold Dance, Gold Free Dance, Gold Solo Free Dance, and Adult Gold Free Skate. She has also passed 9 International Dances, Intermediate Pairs, and Preliminary Figures. Montana is a graduate from UW-Stevens Point with a B.S, Double Major in Marketing and Management and Coaching Certificate. Montana’s dedication to coaching and supporting her students extends beyond the ice, as she remains committed to guiding their growth and helping them achieve their fullest potential both on and off the ice.

Brooklyn Kraegenbrink

Brooklyn has been a Learn to Skate instructor for 7 years for Merrill Ice Reflections Figure Skating Club. She has passed Gold Skating Skills, Bronze Singles, Pre-Gold Dances, and Bronze Pairs. She has competed at Badger State Games, State Games of America, Eau Claire, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, Eagle River, Fond du Lac, Black River Falls, and in Chicago at the Ladybug Classic.  She also competed in the National Excel Skating Series last season. While she was in high school, she was a member of the Timberline High School Team.  She is Learn to Skate Instructor certified and a registered USFSA coach. She has two years of experience in private coaching at Timberline Figure Skating Club and one year of private coaching at Merrill. Brooklyn is also attending college to major in Elementary Education.

Madison Altman-Wendt

Madison has passed Pre-Silver Skating Skills, Pre-Bronze Singles, and Pre-Silver Dance. She has been teaching Learn to Skate for 6+ years. Madison is a USFSA certified coach and Learn to Skate certified.  She has competed in many competitions including Badger State, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, and State Games of America.

Chloe Belant

Hello, I am Chloe! I am a new Junior Coach. I am extremely excited for an opportunity to help out aspiring skaters just like me achieve their goals. I have been skating for 13 years of my life, in that time I have participated in many ice shows and even had a chance to be a Learn To Skate instructor and an Intern. I have also had many amazing opportunities to do testing , my favorite is Ice Dance which I have passed up to the Silver level. Additionally, I have also tested Skating Skills up to the Pre-Silver level and competed a Free Skate at the Preliminary level. With the experiences I have already had I am hoping to help out others who want to further their skating journey whether that be competing, testing or even basic skills. Can’t wait for the new season and what it brings!

Leah Freyer

Leah has been figure skating for ten years. She started instructing Learn To Skate five years ago, and was an intern for Merrill Ice Reflections last season. Leah has been a member of both the Merrill Ice Reflections FSC and the Timberline FSC. She has passed her Gold Skating Skills, Silver Dances, and Pre-Bronze Singles. Leah enjoys competing and has participated in many skating competitions around the Midwest, including the Tomahawk Skate Classic, Hodag Skate Classic, Silver Blades Classic, Eau Claire Figure Skating Competition, Badger State Games, State Games of America 2022 in Iowa, Duluth Figure Skating Competition, Ladybug Competition in Illinois, Spring Fling in Ohio,  Bloomington Figure Skating Competition, and the Cherry Classic in Michigan. For the last two years, she has participated in the National Excel Series. Leah loves skating, and she is excited to guide young skaters in their journey on the ice! 

Learn to Skate Interns

Intern

Korina Kraegenbrink

Korina has been skating since she was 4 years old with Merrill Ice Reflections. She has passed her Silver Skating Skills, Pre-Bronze Singles, and Silver Dances. She is a member of the Timberline High School Team. Korina has been a competitive skater and competed in many skating competitions around Wisconsin and State Games of America in Iowa. Korina is passionate about coaching and has been a LTS instructor for the last 5 years. She is also a LTS instructor and Junior Coach for the Timberline Figure Skating Club.

Professional Coach Criteria

• 18 years old and graduated from high school.
• Coached and choreographed.
• Minimum credentials: Silver Dance, Silver Skating Skills, and Pre-Bronze to Bronze Singles.
• Must be a USFSA compliant coach and insured.

Junior Coach Criteria

• 16+ years old
• Must be a USFSA compliant coach and insured.
• Must have been a Learn to Skate Intern with MIRFSC for a minimum of one year.
• Must have been a member of MIRFSC for a minimum of three years.
• Will be required to volunteer 1 hour during Learn to Skate.
• Can coach private lessons during Advanced Ice for a maximum of 3.5 hours per week. (If Junior Coach is still in high school is required to purchase advanced ice for themselves for 1 hour per week.)
• If still in high school, they can be a part of the show in their normal advanced numbers.
• Will not be paid if they choreograph their own number for the show.
• Will not choreograph numbers for the same age peers unless the Pro directs this.
• Will not be allowed to coach private lessons during the show practice weeks unless one of their skaters has a solo in the show.
• Will be eligible for the scholarship if graduating from high school.
• Minimum credentials: Preliminary Singles, Pre-Bronze Dance, and Bronze Skating Skills.

Learn to Skate Intern Criteria

• 16 years old
• Active member of MIRFSC for three years.
• Learn to Skate volunteer instructor for three years and will continue to volunteer one hour per week.
• Passed Preliminary Skating Skills and Pre-Preliminary Singles test.
• If there are more qualified applicants than open position(s) then the position will be made available to the oldest grade applicant(s).
• Job Duties include: testing levels through basic 3, assisting the Pro Coach, and fill in for classes in case of absence.
